Spot the space shuttle!
We had a lovely relaxed breakfast in glorious sunshine. It was so hot, and my arm hurt too much, to explore the grounds of the mansion. We walked to the village to a great wee pub where we had a long lunch, then it was back to the van for a snooze.
We had tickets for two evening performances - Tom Poster and friends - he is a pianist and played with a young French horn player and a violinist. The worked together in perfection. It was a delight. After a thunder and lightening show, we returned to hear Tom play alone. It was billed as jazz but was Gershwin and Ravel, then his take on a complex Ravel piece which was wonderful. it was exhausting to hear so he must have been shattered.
We walked back to the vans and Sheila and Mike came in for a snack and some wine, till Mike’s alarm went off to tell him it was time to go outside to look at the space shuttle passing over. We did actually see it passing through clear sky into clouds. Here they are waving to the cosmonauts.
