Drive-by Shooting

A busy day starting at 8am for physio, followed by a swim and then home to get ready for work. The traffic was queuing into Rottingdean and I was stopped next to the village pond which looked so nice with the blue sky, so I grabbed my phone and took this out of the window.

It took an hour to drive home from work as due to the weather everyone’s heading to the coast, but also I took a slight detour to Asda at the marina to pick up a copy of our local paper. I’d been notified by them that one of my images of the i360 had been used in a double page spread - unfortunately I don’t get paid for it but they have credited me as the photographer. Being part of the Argus Camera Club, we’re aware that they can use our images, it’s a shame we don’t get paid but it is nice to see your image in the paper.

Anyway, while in Asda I heard someone calling my name, and when I turned round it was one of the patients from the clinic where I used to work. I always got on really well with him and his wife who also used to live in Belgium - he used to be in the army at SHAPE and was based in Mons, but is now retired. I asked how he was and he gave me the biggest hug and said he was all the better for seeing me - how lovely! We had a chat and I suggested that if he didn’t mind me contacting him, maybe the four of us could meet up for a drink, and he said yes, to get in touch.

My evening has been spent packing as tomorrow we’re off to the Isle of White for a few days :-)
