A good place to be today....
I was on Tiree today and flew there from Oban , via Coll.
My first extra photograph is landing at Coll , whilst my second is one of the many wonderful pyramid orchids growing on the machair on Tiree, where I went after my surgery with John Bolwer of the RSPB to talk corncrakes and other island things.
But my main picture is of the solitary house on the Island of Gunna which lies between Coll and Tiree. If you look at it closely you can see a couple of boats and a couple of kyaks, so someone must be there at the moment. It is privately owned and I knew nothing of it until I spotted this while flying past.
You can find out a little more here but it did strike me as a particularly good place to be today, given the news from elsewhere.
