Hostas

Another very warm day and I decided to do a little work on the allotment first thing.  Dug up some potatoes to clear the area for some new seeds in a few days time.  I was back by 9am but feeling very hot.

This afternoon I was out with a friend on an arranged visit to Shutelake Gardens in Mid Devon.  It was a lovely garden demonstrating what can be done to create a beautiful garden on the side of a hill.  I just missed seeing a kingfisher that flew above our heads but enjoyed watching the dragonflies and damselflies quickly moving around the small stream.  There was an abundance of attractive flowers but I particularly liked this display of Hostas.  We then all had tea and cake before setting off for the journey back home.

There was a magnificent light display last night and into the early hours of this morning with mainly sheet lightening brightening the sky rhymically in different areas.  No thunder though.
