Cooling

With temperatures set to soar this week, we must make sure the bird bath in the garden is kept topped up.
It is essential to have water on hand for the birds - primarily blackbirds, robins, the occasional nuthatch, oh yes, and sparrows. I am not sure whether they look to it for drinking or to bathe in safe water. They do both, while visiting pigeons seem happy to simply stand in it.
Either way, I’m topping up the water two or three times a day.
Then again, I am drinking more water than usual while the summer sun is high!
