Not commuting
Todays blip is of Hartwell House, near Aylesbury. Built in the early 1600s and subject to various alterations since that time. Now part of the National Trust and run as a hotel.
It was never a place for commuters, it was built for those who did not need to commute.
We were there yesterday to enjoy afternoon tea (see extras), a birthday gift my wife received and had saved up for a treat on a summer day. It was very enjoyable to spend time in the immaculate rooms, relatively cool with exemplary service.
