Heatwave!
Will it never end? After a morning trip to the recycling centre with our excess fixed carbon, a toodle over to the harbour was in order. What a glorious day. How befitting a day for say, the coronation of a new King. I’ll skip that. Boris Johnson. And Jo Swinson too, let us not forget.
Anyway, after a tidy up, I went for a little sail round Wardie Bay on my lonesome. A one point the sails were so well balanced that the boat just sailed along without a hand on the tiller, so silently, just the ripples spreading across the water. Blissful.
Then back to the pontoon to await the arrival of McC the elder, and off we did go - a trip out past Inchmickery, Oxcars and round the back of Inchcolm along Mortimer’s Deep, before hardening up at the west cardinal and heading for home. The skies darkened and a strong Easterly blew up. Along we did skud! Like proper old salts. And then, magically as we entered the harbour, the wind totally dropped away with the setting sun. Fabulous.
And there was the SK back from the Filmhouse on the pontoon - just waiting to take our lines. Well, I assume - she appreciated the practice, I'm sure.
