Inevitable

It was inevitable that Xander would eat sand.  What one-year- old hasn't given it a try?  It's been so incredibly hot that we haven't spent much time at the beach, but this evening we decided to bring the pail and shovel, a towel, and our flip flops and we headed out.
It was a crazy weather day on the Cape, which we missed because we traveled into Boston to visit relatives.  While we were away a tornado hit the southern shore and caused some frightening damage.  Fortunately, no one appears to have been injured.  The positive is it pushed the warm, muggy air out and it is now delightfully cool.  After this quick trip to the beach, dinner and a warm bath, Xander is happily in the land of Nod.
