Hallé in space

It's Bluedot time of year! This, I think, is the fourth year that the Minx and I have attended: we've yet to miss one. This year, though, we'll be accompanied by Dan, who's been before, and Charlie, Hannah, and Milly, who haven't.

Dan, the Minx, and I met up with with Charlie at a little diner in Alderley Edge, called Aldeli*, for some lunch and then proceeded on to Jodrell Bank. Today, it would be just the four of us.

Having parked up, unloaded the cars, and made camp**, we took our chairs through to the field in front of the Lovell Stage. (The Thursday night is an extension to the main festival and it's the only time you can take chairs in.)

Last year, the Hallé played along to footage from 'Blue Planet' and this year, the fiftieth anniversary of the first moon landing, they played theme tunes from Sci-Fi films. It would have been great, anyway, but it was even better watching it with Dan who's a huge fan of the Hallé. The high point for me, predictably, was the theme from 'Doctor Who', not because I'm a massive fan of the TV series but because of Delia Derbyshire's involvement.

*cute.
** the Minx and I are glamping, they aren't.
