PULL

Welcome to New Year of 2013 - in the village of Ayton, near Scarborough UK, this day holds an annual tug of war contest. The village is divided by the River Derwent and the event began in 1969. Last year West Ayton were the wInners.

Two teams, one from the pub on the East side (The Denison Arms) and the other from the pub on the West side of the village (Ye Olde Forge Valley Inn).

Today there were 8 members in each team. The best team wins - in this case the West Ayton team retained their title. Each pull is over as soon as a competitor touches the water. The losers must wade across the water to the other side to greet the winners. Both teams then race - to the winning pub for a drink or two !

Copter made maiden flight today - it has working lights and is capable of taking video and stills on the on-board camera ! However flying needs more work and I blame the pilot !
