Sunshine (and cygnets) on (the Water of) Leith
You'd think that once I had deposited Mummy hazelh on her train to Newcastle this morning, Mr hazelh and I would enjoy the rest of the day free of social events. But no! This afternoon Mr hazelh prepared for the arrival of the members of his Boys' Book Club for an evening of learned discussion, and this evening I was treated by Laura to a meal out in Leith.
The venue of our meal was the King's Wark on the Shore. The restaurant is to the far left of my blip: it's the building with the green frontage. Last December at the Leith Theatre Christmas party Laura won some vouchers for the restaurant in a raffle and this evening we had a lovely time spending them.
When I returned home I discovered that the boys had just finished a game of Catan. I persuaded two of them to play another game - and thrashed them both in 25 minutes <evil laugh>.
I have suffered no ill-effects of yesterday's run, so I will continue my slow return to trudging the cycle paths over the next few days.
In other news another of my PhD students successfully defended her thesis at her viva and will graduate subject to the completion of minor amendments in November. Congratulations Alicja!
Exercise today: walking (15,903 steps) and 1 hour on the exercise bike.
