Leading the flock
This morning I took J back to Girona airport to catch her flight back to Manchester. The roads were very, very quiet -- hardly a soul about. After the glorious weather our visitors have had throughout their stay, it was grey and overcast. It even started to rain as I left the airport. This didn't deter me from stopping in Rupia on my way back, in the hope of finding a blip.
We visited Rupia early in our stay here and really liked it, but we hadn't been back since. What a gorgeous village, even in the rain. It soon stopped raining, and I spent almost an hour just wandering the quiet streets, finding something blippable at every turn.
While I was in the square photographing a very fine building, I heard a tinkling of bells nearby. Intrigued, I peered through the archway leading to the street, and when I saw what it was, I was totally thrilled. Far more thrilled than I would have been before I started blipping :)
I madly fired off shots as the shepherd and his herd of sheep passed. They were gone in a minute; if I'd been there five minutes earlier or later, I'd never have known they'd been there -- the only sign of their passage the trail of muck on the road. And how considerate of them to choose one of the most picturesque corners of this lovely village. I was so excited I had to have a little rest when they'd gone. Is this a sign of blip addiction?
So this photo was a no-brainer for today's blip. And it's SOOC, not even cropped. Have a look large to count the sheep. I like Rupia so much I've once more put a set on Flickr. See if you can spot the cagatios.
Back at home, S had succumbed to the lurgy that has been stalking him for the last three days and retired to bed, where Mystère had joined him. So I've spent the afternoon going through photos and catching up on blips. Now I've lit the fire and I'll be pouring a glass of something red shortly. A very happy New Year to you all, blipmates!
