Stornaway
After a comfortable night in our wee hut, we set off (quite late!) in good spirits for our last lap - Stornoway was only 12 miles away, and they were supposedly flat. Well, there were no steep climb, but I wouldn't have called it flat, and with a head wind, the climb to the top of the moor was definitely felt. We made good time, though and were in Stornoway for lunch. We then found Bespoke to pay our debt and were able to leave our bikes and bags while we visited the town which was full of visitors for the HebCelt. Then out to Sandwick to be hospitably greeted by our hosts - relatives of a friend of mine - for the night. It is really heartwarming to to meet so many welcoming people and the hospitality of the islanders will stay with me as a strong feature of this trip.
