What a gorgeous start to the year, clear blue skies and glorious sunshine.

A long overdue visit to my allotment this morning to check on all my winter veg. Was delighted (if not a little surprised) to see the shallots, garlic and onion have all sprouted and the beans and peas have shot up. Turnips, purple sprouting broccoli, kale, rainbow chard and rocket all doing remarkably well.

The weather was so unexpectedly mild, decided to go for a long walk over the Welsh Harp afterwards and just caught this action shot of the birds between slipping and sliding and trying not to loose my inadequate footwear in the muddy banks of the reservoir.
