Dunnock

Today dawned like a Spring day and as we always do on New Year's Day we went to visit our neighbour; but they had either gone out already or not returned from celebrating on New Year's Eve. In one way it was good that they were not there as just after we got home again some friends arrived unexpectedly; no doubt we will see our neighbours sometime soon.

I chose this Dunnock sitting on our bird table for my first blip of the New Year. It is now late afternoon and the sun is going in and it is getting a little chilly; Spring has not arrived after all.

Happy New Year to everyone and I shall look forward to another year of reading journals and looking into other peoples' lives.
