Happy New Year!

Last night we had a great end to 2012 and a fantastic start to 2013. The food was as wonderful as always at Jardin D'Asie, and just before midnight the staff gave everyone party packs which contained blowers, pea shooters and streamers.

As soon as midnight struck the battle commenced, firing little balls from the pea shooters at each other and the other diners in the restaurant. Our party of 14 were in a small dining room to the side of the restaurant and we were the only big group in that room - the other tables were groups of four, but they all took it in good spirit, and actually thanked us for livening up their evening!

Then the dancing began, and we were still dancing at 2am - my legs certainly ache this morning, but at least my exercise regime has been given a kick start.

This 'self shot' was taken while dancing with my friend Fiona, and is a total fluke so I can't tell you what I did to get the effect. I had the camera in my left hand and obviously moved it as I took the photo hence the blurred effect, but I actually really like it. It was taken at 00.15 so I decided I'd use it as my first blip of the year.

Our friends stayed over last night, and we all got up rather late for a breakfast of croissants, pain au raisin and pain au chocolate. Then once they'd left I went out with Louis for a walk near the Butte du Lion as I wanted to go to the monument where we scattered dad's ashses.

I was surprised to see that his ashes are still there despite all the rain we've had, so I had a chat to him, and it was funny as Louis was looking around to see who I was talking too lol!

Other than that we have no plans today, just a lazy day watching the TV with our feet up, before going back to work tomorrow.

Anyway, I wish you all a healthy, happy and prosperous 2013 x
