The dropped stitch

Flapping flags

Tomorrow Holm Sailing Club is holding a 70 years anniversary event, and today these cheery flags were flying along the sea front.

On Tuesday evenings through the summer it's always fine to see the boats out on the water. I found out today that they are Snipe class. These boats are 'easy to handle both in light wind as well as a strong blow with big waves'. They have a fairly narrow hull, a hefty aluminium dagger board and the mast and boom are made of aluminium.

Next time I see them on a Tuesday night I'll see if I can remember any of those facts.
