Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

A perfect start to 2013

Went to the supermarket yesterday, via the cake shop. I had a huge slice of courgette cake. Sad to learn that they're shut for two days.

As we were chatting to the waiter, he pointed out a big pink Range Rover type car. It was Katie Price! With a personalised number plate, of course. She was going to the supermarket! On New Year's Eve! With the hoi polloi. If I had her money I'd send a minion.

Anyway, that livened up wandering round the aisles. NOT that I'd know what she looks like, but I think I did see her a few times- ie a few different people.

But as we left, this model like person, in very high heels, was at the self service bit. I was sure it was her, and I've just checked on Google images. What am I like?

JR declared last night that she was, finally, really, 'feeling better'. Today dawned sunny and still. JR would come out on our walk! This was all good, except that Henry had to walk around with pleading looks for a bit longer than usual.

We have just returned from a long walk along the promenade to the old pier. Every man and his dog was out! It was crowded! The promenade was knee deep in scooters, dogs, joggers, and plenty of people who looked like they'd been there from the night before.

This shot was taken in a lull. I love the wee huts, and the buildings behind. And I especially love the blue sky! I tweaked the saturation a teensy bit, but it's honestly a beautiful bright sunny day here - not a cloud to be seen!

It was just what the doctor ordered for the New Year!
