New Year ........

....... on One Street Main Street.

Happy New Year Blippers.

A quiet Hogmanay for Daughter and I. Jools did us proud with his Hootenanny. (Apart from Adam Ant. Loved what he did in the 80's but the past is the past, for him anyway).

So, up bright and fairly early this morning and the SUN was shining. The dog walk was a joy. Everyone I met wished me a Happy New Year. People I knew and visitors to the village. And it was SUNNY. It has made me feel rather optimistic for the year ahead.

As the village was fairly quiet and the SUN was casting a lovely light it was a good opportunity to take some photos of the village for my 'One Street' project.

Have to admit I haven't eaten here. Don't really know why. Guess that's what happens when you are a local. Since we have lived in the village it has changed owner a number of times.

Unfortunately it doesn't look very appealing here but it is a reminder of the recent flooding and the precautions that the local businesses have to take.

I also feel that the addition of the sand bags documents how life has been in the village over the last 4-6 weeks. It feels like the rain would never stop.

Not today though. Did I mention that the SUN is shining.
