Villanelle, bins magnolia and vulnerability

There is a bit in the Luke Jennings trilogy where Konstantin notices that even Vilanelle is sometimes vulnerable. Vulnerability has been on my mind today following a breakfast conversation with a wise colleague. Good leadership requires the courage to show vulnerability, and opens up the possibility of exceptional teamwork operating in a safe space where the culture is tolerant, no encouraging, of failure, without which creativity cannot exist. And this led me to find out more about Brene Brown, and her TedTalk – the power of vulnerability, oh and the notion that a story is data with a soul.
So what’s with the photo, well it’s shot from the bedroom window highlighting the carefully concealed bins and in the foreground a deeply vulnerable magnolia tree that earlier in the year looked as if it might see the summer out, I’m not so sure.
