Callanish
The forecast was for heavy rain and wind and, boy, was it right! We arrived in Callanish wet through. Thankfully, they have a lovely café where we had delicious soup and cake, a visitor centre with “the story of the stones” exhibition, and by the time we did all that, the weather started to change and we saw the stones in relatively dry conditions. I find them beautiful and fascinating. I took many photos, none of them doing justice to the place, and had problems choosing so have added some as extra.
Our bed for the night was only a couple of miles down the road. It turned out to be a beautiful evening and we went to a concert/ceilidh, as part of the CeltFest. The band, Beinn Lee, a group of young people from South Uist had lovely songs in Gaelic and some traditional tunes.
