Tui Time
Today was dry and mostly sunny so I finished pruning the roses. In the afternoon they got a copper spray. Now it's onto the weeds. Housework avoided for another day. The little waxeyes are flocking to the sugar water feeder and the kiwifruit. There are Tui who swoop in and drink as well. They announce their presence with a whir of wings and their distinctive call. From a distance they look black but in the right light you can see they have a lot of brown among their feathers. In the background a sparrow is waiting it's turn.
