Hotel Doocot

Beehive dovecot built in 1570s by the notorious James Douglas 4th Earl of Morton. He governed Scotland as Regent 1572-78 and as a reward got his head chopped off being accused of the murders of David Riccio a favorite of Mary Queen of Scots and her second husband Lord Darnley.
The doos cheered for he murdered and ate hundreds of them
