New Forest Mare and foal

We came across these two at the gate to Setthorns Inclosure. I realised that I hadn't taken any pictures of forest foals this year so I took this one. Hopefully they were just seeking shade as there can be issues with the forest run feral ponies hanging around in the car parks begging unsuitable treats from visitors. On the mare you can just see the reflective collar worn by many of the ponies that helps them be better seen on the roads by drivers at night. There is a big campaign around here at the moment to reduce the number of ponies/cattle/donkeys killed or injured in raid accidents.
On a happier note just seeing the ponies makes me realise how lucky I am to live in such a special place.
