Today my brother and I traveled over to see a cousin in Staffordshire also meeting a friend for lunch.
She showed us a photo of the well dressing display that she along with other members of the community had made.  It has taken 500 plus man hour to make this which is made from totally all organic and natural materials.
The panel which she had spent her time on was of a nurse.  Her uniform is made from blue Delphinium petals. the hat from black peppercorns and numerous other natural products.  
the dog was made with dog hair, the sheep from wool. other things were dried avocado skin,  dried kiwi skin and the list goes on!!  It was amazing to hear everything that had been put into it.
Everything was pressed into clay and the middle panel took eight men to lift it on a flat bed trailer to be carried to the final display place.
The Well Dressing is to give thanks and celebrate Trent Head Well.
Unfortunately this year when the tableau was shown and the event opened the heavens opened and everyone was completely drenched.
I couldn't resist taking a photo of her photo because this yearly event is something to marvel at.
