Shrewsbury
A successful day in terms of following my plan. The buses all arrived on time and I passed through Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire with their rolling green countryside and picturesque villages. Although there is no chance to explore on a trip like this, you see so much more from a bus than if you are driving or travelling by train. Sadly, no double deckers today. I had a couple of hours in Leominster which wasn’t ideal, but that’s the way the timetables worked out.
I have passed over quite a few rivers including the Wye, but somehow have returned to the Severn here in Shrewsbury. I thought I might blip it again but I had’t taken account of how hilly it is and I’m finding the town quite tricky to navigate. It’s turned very sultry and strength sapping so I’m back at my hotel for a relaxing evening before the next part of my journey towards the Mersey tomorrow.
