Stuff and Nonsense

Wildflowers

I have been looking for some patches of wildflowers to photograph that are not on the side of a busy road or in the middle of a roundabout, but so far been unsuccessful.
This morning I was googling if there were any lavender fields nearby and came across one only 25-30 minutes away. So I decided to take a trip out before all the sport starts today, but on my way their passed a park in St Helens that had some wildflower beds and lucky me, I was able to park right next to the park.
I love it when councils plant beds like this instead of just leaving it as bare grass. It's just wonderful. There were no butterflies(as it was still quite cool and cloudy), but there were plenty of insects and bees buzzing around. This patch was full of poppies, but there were other areas that were mainly yellow and white with daisies interspersed with cornflowers and a few poppies giving it a totally different feel.
This was my favourite - it's a shame the blue sky did not appear, but I'll take it!

Now I am settling down to watch some sport, but will catch up on your journals whilst doing so.
