Recovering...

My computer caught a virus a couple of days before I left to go south for Christmas and it had got worse by the time I came back. Not only was it playing snatches of weird music to me and speaking in American and other foreign languages, but it had also started to navigate its own way round the internet. Nothing worked as I tried to get rid of it, so I bit the bullet and reformatted the hard disk. A long-drawn-out process, and I'm still reinstalling more software as I back-blip this from 31st December. However, it's worked - no virus since 28th.
