Wildly Wonderful
Today was the last session of our fifteen-week prayer course, six hours on the island in the middle of the Lake, four of them in solitude and silence. It was brilliant, restorative, peace-giving, exactly what we all needed. This was the holm oak under which I sat; the extra is the group.
Part of the brief was to pray Psalm 104,
What a wildly wonderful world, God!
You made it all, with Wisdom at your side,
made earth overflow with your wonderful creations...
and to have a dialogue with one specific creature, mine was with this oak... truly, to think that such a complex mini world emerged from one small acorn, "wildly wonderful" indeed.
And then, Maria (the lady standing up) surprised us all by taking us out to lunch at O Chafariz.
Off to church in a bit, and then our weekly meal with the Padre, though we just had two meals with him!
Gratefuls:
- space to be still and re-orientate myself to what really matters
- this group, we have come to appreciate each other so much
- blessed clouds and breeze, making time outdoors totally pleasant
