Aberbach, Pembrokeshire
One of my favourite beaches of many in Pembrokeshire. Aberbach is where a small stream meets the sea (aber = estuary; bach = small) but on this particular sunny day the stream at the far end of the beach was uncrossable. Thwarted to the North, we turned South to Abermawr (mawr = big) and had a fabulous walk along its valley and back again. Strangely this is Brunel country, where he originally planned a rail terminus and Transatlantic liner port. The remains of an early rail line can still be seen in places. The plan changed for a terminus at Neyland near Milford Haven.
