Scarlet Macaw

At lunch I decided to drop in to the zoo again and see who was up and about. As usual, most of the mammals were sleeping - but the big birds were up and about and being garrulous. The scarlet macaws were very curious about my attention, and came up to investigate.

Their colours are so striking that I decided to drop back the exposure and increase the contrast to evoke how it feels to me.

Tomorrow we're going out to tour some Open Studios. First time in a few years that we've done it, and I'm really looking forward to it.
