Home Secretary Announces “Game Changing” New Technology from Cyan Forensics to Help Fight Child Abuse

The company I run, Cyan Forensics, works in an area where we often can't talk about what we are doing.

Today, no lesser person than the Home Secretary broke a big part of that silence for us, announcing that our technology would be integrated with the National Child Abuse Image Database (CAID) system. This is the culmination of years of hard work by my whole team, building the software, spreading the word, and running pilot projects.  I'm proud of every one of them.

I'm sitting in Gatwick, and I can't resist savouring the moment after a really busy day (6 meetings, 1 networking session and innumerable calls and e-mails) by watching coverage of our software being demonstrated on BBC TV News this morning, and re-reading the press release we can finally put out.  It's a bit of a lame blip, but this is a day worth remembering in my book.

If anyone is interested, here are the Home Office Press Release and my company's post.
