Checks and balances…
My Day:
The cycling experiment has slightly taken over everything… Hopefully in a week or so I have everything in place to do some other stuff.
Cycling:
Day 2/92
Did some interval training with my mate today on the Western Road… 5 x 150 metre sprints with 20 minute rest in-between. He was in a track bike and I was on my road bike. He had to increase his gear ratio for each sprint so had to swap chainrings 4 times.
I survived…

Just some of the things I will be using during the cycling experiment…
Weight control… The Garmin records the training, the Fitbit general activity the info is passed into MyFitnessPal app on the phone, where I log what I eat… so as long as I don’t eat more than I burn I won’t increase my weight… Being a bit of a fat boy I need to run at a bit of a calorie deficit to lose some weight…
The scales I will jump on only once a week on a Sunday morning.
Heart Rate Monitor links to the Garmin so do speed and cadence sensors to give me info about my ride.
The Fitbit I also use to track my resting heart rate to see if I’m overtraining (Can’t see than happening) or hopefully see it lower as I get fitter.
Blood pressure monitor – 60+ who needs a stroke so will check each morning.
