Citizens' Assemblies: Discuss

Really interesting panel discussion convened by the Electoral Reform Society to discuss the nascent Scottish Citizens' Assembly. Packed hall on a summer evening. I was a bit skeptical about it all but found the arguments quite compelling - esp the idea that political parties by definition seek to find difference and division and to exploit opportunities to diss their opponents - whereas citizens can work together and analyse the evidence they hear and arrive at solutions to very difficult issues.
