North Uist Hills

Today was less windy and warm for the Hebrides. We went up the last Marilyn on North Uist, Beinn Mhòr, on the way to Berneray. It is only 190 metres high but as usual the views were wonderful especially to the south. The blip is a panorama taken from the summit looking to the hills we went up yesterday. The hills from the left are Lì Tuath, Lì a Deas, Eabhal, Beinn Mhòr in South Uist and the hills of Barra low on the horizon. The overwhelming sense is vast amounts of water most of it the sea with hills rising out of the bogs. It’s a great place. We then went to Berneray and walked around the north east part of the island from the village along the beach and up Beinn Sllèibhe before getting the ferry to Leverburgh (An t-Ob). Today’s collage is the beach north of the village looking over the Sound of Harris to the hills of South Harris, a view of Lì Tuath, Lì a Deas, Eabhal from Beinn Mhòr, Tràigh Sheileboist and another of the beach on Berneray.
