Living Legacy

The Lanphear family has been making its mark protecting the trees of Northeast Ohio (including ours) for 119 years. We missed the dedication ceremony of the new park, so I was delighted to see the new sign and tree on my way to my eye exam.

On the way back, I stopped in at the library’s acclaimed Skirball Writing Center, then nosed around the park and overlook above the Nine Mile Creek Wetland (shown lower left). It’s the first detention basin green retrofit in NE Ohio. We lost over 90% of the Ohio wetlands due to development over the last two hundred years.

Top photo is The Great Elm to cheer a special blipmate.
