The Team!
Today we were at the North Somerset Show Ground for the Countryside Day when we invite local schools to visit the Show Ground to see how their food is produced. This time we had 2300 children from schools across our region which was fantastic. With this event we need 200 volunteer steward to operate the whole day! Both Mr Tbay and I were both involved needless to say.
Mr Tbay does the cultivation area and together with another farmer, Julie Butler, they do a really good talk about cultivation and what you then put into the soil. This is the team having a quick break!
All in all it was a fantastic day enjoyed by all who attended and hopefully the children will have learnt a little more about where their food comes from. Last time we held this event a teacher asked our Show secretary how long it took the pig to recover once the bacon had been taken off it. I jest not!!! This is why these days are sooooo important!
