Jeanne d'Arc

This morning was spent visiting Rouen where we had a 2 hour guided tour. The city is where Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake and this statue of her is in the very modern church which was built where she was killed.

Disappointingly we were unable to go inside the Cathedral as it was closed until 2pm today and the ship left Rouen at lunchtime.

During the afternoon we spent time on the sundeck (in the shade) reading or taking photos of the passing scenes. River cruising is a very relaxing way to travel and it is so quiet being on the sundeck. You can hear the birds singing particularly when passing the wooded areas.
