Not tempted to go out in the rain, so it's been a day of domesticity: ironing yesterday's laundry and making spinach-and-orange soup while listening to the radio. I even flicked a duster about.

While delving in the bowels of the sideboard, I unearthed the above ancient photo (circa 1953) which my mother, judging by the discoloured paper and string on the back, must have sent to my gran. I'd forgotten all about it! It made me smile :-)

Right, time for a cuppa....
