Coming in to land.
I was trying my hand at birds in motion shots. Not as successful as I would have liked. The problem was there wasn't enough squabbling over the feeders. There was always one or teo perches free. What I needed was the winter flock of Goldfinches. They bicker and fight over the perches and there are always more then 4.
I chose this shot as it shows both types of Sparrow that we get. To the one to the left is aTree Sparrow (Passer montanus) both sexes are alike. It can be identified by the white collar, black cheek patch and brown crown. To the right is a male House Sparrow (passer domesticus). The House Sparrow has a grey crown and a large black bib which unforunately you can't see.
