I Swear It's True

My Dear Fellows & Dear Princess Normal,

I am watching "Big Little Lies". Not on purpose. Caro likes it and so it is on in the background. Still, I find myself getting sucked in. It is quite sharply written and stuffed full of good actresses. 

I think my favourite is Laura Dern. I've always been a bit fond of Laura, and she plays a complete filthy-mouthed ball of fury in this. She is really VERY sweary, which is most entertaining. 

Caro is also loving the soundtrack and it has been playing every day when I get in from work. She especially likes Michael Kiwanuka who is a modern indie pop gentleman and once again I have been left behind with my Nik Kershaw albums.

Another of our favourite shows, Pose is back. It also features a wonderful soundtrack and our new favourite actor, Billy Porter. And in the new series Elektra Abundance has become an S&M dominatrix! It is just perfect. Caro and me practically cheered.

But we still love our old favourites too. We just watched the new Shaft movie which again features Samuel L. Jackson. I heartily recommend this film. It is not what you think. It's not the big jackets, the polo-neck sweaters or the Isaac Hayes theme tune. 

Well. All right it IS all of those things. 

But it is also the fact that it's a surprisingly funny movie. Really. We found we were laughing all the way through. Unsurprisingly, really very sweary though. 

I believe we've found the common denominator of my favourite things.
