It's Not a Fight

It appears to have been a good breeding year for birds in our neighborhood. There are a lot more woodpeckers, flickers, grosbeaks, nuthatches, and chickadees. Our suet cake budget has had to be increased accordingly. 

If I remember correctly, the (male) flicker on the left is feeding the fledgling on the right.

Note the damage to the rail. They haven't found any insects there yet.
