Tolling Man

We had very late start times today (5:30). So with this in mind decided to visit the museum in Silkeborg. This is home to Tollund Man who dates to about 400BC who was discovered in the 1950’s perfectly preserved in a peat bog. He was sent immediately to Copenhagen for investigation but unfortunately the body did not survive the examination. Silkeborg had to apply pressure for the head to be returned home. They have since reconstructed the body to show how he was found.

We then needed to plan our eating to ensure we had enough energy for our runs. The W60s and W65s were in the last mass start in technical, physical and undulating terrain with a butterfly loop (where some controls were visited twice). I did not have much energy left in the legs for the run in!

Thank goodness it is a rest day tomorrow.
