49 years...

Forty-nine years ago today we were married in Glasgow University Chapel by the chaplain, the Revd David Millar. Like today, the weather began sunny and ended otherwise - though I remember it was much warmer in 1970.

Today we celebrated with new friends - friends met on our holiday in Malta in February. You can wonder sometimes if holiday friendships will work in the environment of ordinary life, but I felt today provided an emphatic affirmative. In fact we talked so much and laughed so much - even before the champagne - that I forgot to take photos and have to make do with this one.

Lunch was in Harvey Nicks in Edinburgh - a suitably different venue for a celebration. And then our friends went for their train and we came back to the cat.
