Osprey nest!

We walked on Dodd, near Keswick today...

Osprey Watch have two telescopes set up...we had a great view, through the telescope, of the female Osprey who was looking after her chick ( 4 weeks old )

A bit further on up the hill, we found a ‘pretend’ Osprey nest...this is to give children ( and adults! ) an idea of just how big their nests are...

In the ‘extra’ you can see the pod that we stayed in at the weekend...It had electric lights and a couple of power points inside + a small electric/oil fire. Apart from that, we had to bring our own inflatable bed/ bedding etc. It didn’t rain, but we have put up/ taken down tents in the pouring rain many a time!
