Thank you!

Firstly thank you to everyone for your comments, hearts and stars yesterday!  It just goes to show what a great community blip is!  I was a bit overwhelmed by them all!  

Today was a very busy day as the garden was open as part of the Orkney Garden Festival.  Not an auspicious start as at 10am the rain was bucketing down!  By 11am, when we opened, it was a bit less and steadily improved throughout the day.  

We had about one hundred folk round between then and 4pm, and Lottie very soon got used to the coming and going and gave up barking at them!  Some lovely people, locals and people had come from as far away as Kent, Arran and Glasgow.  Many had come especially for the festival, which lasts ten days, and it was really interesting talking to them, why they had chosen to visit, comparing what they can grow and what we can, weather, soil types, pests etc.  

A great day but very tiring!  By the time the last ones had left we were ready for a drink and a sit down!  All the money raised went to the Aberdeen Neuro Ward and the charity Perennial, so well worth a bit of extra weeding!
