View onto the sea

Being here again I took along a book by Henrik Scholte; that was presented 45 years ago as "His bilble on Greece" ~  " Scholte's Griekenland"
He worked as a tourist guide in from the 50-ies up to the late 70-ies and was a big story teller; hence I enjoy reading his book again. It's fun to see that lots of his remarks on the present days are outdated, simply coz time went by, but his stories on Greece's history and mythology and his views on life here are as clear as Greece's white marbles.

One of his notes tells of the chairs in Greece that are always positionned  like in a theatre's balcony = next to one another with that view onto the stage in front and here that stage in Greece most often is the sea!

The sea is the place from where all the news arrives on Greece's islands ... friends and beloved ones brought or taken by the sea, but also new soldiers, helpers or occupants arrived from the sea.

And the sea I saw today was again so clear and cool on this mid-summer's day
