Beady eyes

One of the red kites was doing a repeated loop around our road, gliding low over our garden a couple of times but I failed to get any decent pictures due to the cloud that finally descended late afternoon (off and on). Anyway, the jackdaws were keeping an eye out, including this one on next door's gable.

This morning I was doing archaeological illustration of pottery sherds in a polytunnel, as you do. It was enjoyable but very hot and, consequently, I had a headache by the time we'd finished. So I came home and kept Mr DA company, whose Achilles tendonitis flared-up again yesterday, which meant we missed the street party for another year.
