Blarney Castle

We set the alarm and were at the castle before it opened, and before all the coach loads of eager Americans who all wanted to kiss the Blarney Stone!
At lot of them didn't make it as the climb to the top, which was described as 'arduous' was a very narrow and steep spiral staircase with only a rope handrail to hang on to! But we made it to the top and Mr F (who really has no need of it) managed to get into the contorted position necessary to kiss the freshly washed stone. He was the first person that day to do so!
We looked around the gardens for a while and then set off for the Rosslare-Cherbourg ferry, stopping at Waterford for lunch.
Waterford seems a nice town, and I liked it better than Cork. We had a look around the Waterford crystal shop, but decided we really didn't need a £200,000 crystal Cinderella coach today! The chandeliers were quite pretty though...........
