Birds nest

When the leaves fell I saw this little nest high up in the Robinia tree. At first glance it looks very flimsy. It’s quite exquisite and really hanging on, the way they are made is pretty incredible.

I wouldn’t put newborns in such a scary place so I’ll enter this for Silly Saturday. The birds do seem to survive and are not eaten by our resident cat Toby who rather likes baby birds for lunch so maybe they aren’t so silly after all.

Made two Pavlovas for lunch tomorrow as we are having a family lunch for Maddy’s 10th birthday......other news is The Tour starts tonight for all the cycling fans. There are 8 Aussies this year so we will be barracking for them.
